Akemi Nakanishi, MD

Board-certified in obstetrics/gynecology since 2005, Dr. Nakanishi has been in private practice at Ob-Gyne Associates of Libertyville since 2003. She treats patients at the Libertyville, IL, office and has staff privileges at Advocate Condell Medical Center.

Dr. Nakanishi earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University, McCormick School of Engineering, in 1993. She worked as a systems analyst for two years before entering medical school in 1995. She then received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI, in 1999. Her obstetrics and gynecology residency training was conducted at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, IL, from July 1999 to June 2003.

Dr. Nakanishi is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her professional interests include adolescent gynecology, minimally invasive surgery (including the use of the DaVinci surgical robot), and preventive medicine.
